Overview
Beam is the Lightmeter web application for creating campaigns, managing leads, and sending sequences.
Core Workflow
Create or edit a campaign, add leads, define your sequence steps, set a sending schedule, and launch. Campaign performance and lead activity are visible in the app.
Pausing Campaigns
This section explains what happens when you pause and resume a campaign.
Summary
- Pausing a campaign stops new emails from being scheduled and sent.
- Resume re‑activates the campaign and sending continues on the next processing cycle.
- A small number of emails may still send immediately after pausing.
What “Pause” Means in Practice
Beam sends emails in small groups (batches). When you pause a campaign:
- If the campaign is between batches (no emails actively sending at that moment), no further emails will send.
- If the campaign is already mid‑batch (some emails are actively sending right then), a limited number of emails may still send before the batch finishes.
How Big Is a Batch?
- Beam sends up to 20 emails per campaign per processing cycle.
- The typical worst case after pausing is up to 20 additional emails for a campaign that was already in progress.
If multiple worker processes are running, each can be processing its own batch, so the upper bound can scale with the number of workers.
Does Pausing Prevent Later Steps?
Yes. Once a campaign is paused, leads that have already received Step 1 will not proceed to Step 2 (or later) unless the campaign is resumed.
Resume Behavior
- Resuming returns the campaign to active status.
- Sending restarts on the next processing cycle.
Expected Timing
- Pausing is effective immediately for new work.
- Any in‑progress batch finishes quickly (usually minutes, depending on mail delivery speed).
Resuming Campaigns
Resume re‑activates the campaign and sending continues on the next processing cycle.
